  2. You have to use the Pandora's battery to put the PSP in service mode to be able to add custom firmware. So YES you need a Pandora's battery to be able to get custom programs.  You use the magic memory stick to add custom firmware. So you will need to use a Pandora's battery and Magic memory stick to add custom firmware.

You can do it the easy way and buy a kit. It will have everything you need...

Once you have the custom firmware you can download your azz off and get your emulators on a memory stick. I have N64 games, SuperNintendo, Nintendo, Gameboy advanced and a few others on mine. I also have a UMD dumper witch copys any UMD, so you don't need to put the UMD in the console to play full games. I have a few other programs installed. Make sure you get a big memory card. I use two 4GB memory sticks.

  3. No...You need a memory stick if you want to run emulators.  But you have to have 1.5 firmware or custom firmware to run the emulators.  And the only reason you would need a pandora battery was if you bricked your psp and needed to restore it, or if you need to go from official sony firmware to a custom firmware.
