Question:

Can i use my IGCSE to get into an American or Canadian University without writing SAT or TOEFL?

i know i can use it to get into a south african university or any other university in the u.k. IGCSE covers Math, English as a second language, physics, chemistry, e.t.c these are items that SAT and TOEFL cover and more. I need a quick answer.

  1. If you are from a country where English is not the first langauge then you will not find any university in the States or Canada where they will waive the TOEFL requirement.

    There are a number of colleges and universities in both the U.S. and Canada that do not require the SAT I test to be taken in order to gain admission. These are mainly limited to Community Colleges.


  2. You can get into Canadian universities and many American ones without taking the SAT, but you'll most likely need to take the TOEFL or IELTS to be admitted.

  3. Most likely not, this is a requirement for almost all the schools. Sounds like you would not have an issue completing it.

    All though,Talk to a guidance counselor, sometimes they'll let you slide simply by just talking to you and if your are proficient in English language you have a good change of not going through this pain.
