Can i use my british passport to travel from sydney australia to gold coast australia?

I have lost my australian one which i am applying for a new one soon but need to get to gold coast this weekend? Can i use my british one?

You do not need a passport for a domestic flight. It does not matter even if you are from another country it is a domestic flight so no passport needed

You don't need a passport for interstate travel in Australia, even on a plane. You just need to show some form of Government issued Photo ID, like a driver's license, firearms license or other Photo ID.

How come you have both British and Australian Citizenships? (British passports are only for British citizens and Australian passports are only issued to Australian Citizens) Thought it was 1 or the other?

I'm not entirely sure, but you should be able to, a passport is a passport after all, but it might not be allowed in australia, im not sure sorry.

you dont need a passport to fly within australia, only if your leaving the country

Yes you can. If you are flying any photo i.d will be satisfactory so a passport - be it british or australian is perfectly fine. If you leave Australia however and return using only your british passport you may have problems but will definitely need a visa.

Laws have changed regarding passport so it is perfectly fine to hold both Australiand and British passports now. In the past you could only hold one.

You don't need a passport at all to travel within Australia and Sydney and the Gold Coast are both within Australia.
