  1. pretty sure you can, they use satellite navigation not telecomunications, and satellites cover the entire globe


  2. There should be no reason why not...I would contact your service provider to give you further information or contact Telecom or Vodafone when you arrive in NZ...they are in all the main shopping malls or contactable by phone.
