Can i use my ps3 to play counter strike?

i recently connected my ps3 controller to my pc so i would not have to buy a game pad to pla fps but i don't have any other fps yet other than counter strike so the question is can i use my ps3 controller to play counterstrike?? and if you can how??

  1. As long as counterstrike is configurable to a gamepad, yes, you can. That's not a given with pc fps, of course, some developers think everyone will be happy with wasd and a mouse.

    If it does work with a gamepad, you just need the driver, if you are using Windows. If you're using linux, you don't need anything. (hurrah for linux)

    softpedia.com has a copy of the sixaxis driver. I'm not sure if that's the same driver as for the dualshock 3, but it would probably work for it regardless. It wouldn't matter since CS won't be using the vibration feature and can't use the motion sensors (only ps3 can do that)

    google "sixaxis XP driver" and you should see plenty of links to direct downloads.

    btw the sixaxis is a killer gamepad on pc. When I first configured my sixaxis, my pc recognized it as a 28-axis joystick. Every button is so pressure sensitive the pc considers it an axis not a button. It still works as a button though.
