Can i use my regular birth certificate to get passport if i dont have a certified one?

yes can i get a regular birth certificate? i dont have a certified, or do i really need a certified?

  1. Where do you live?  In England you just need your original birth certificate.  I've never heard of needing a certified one!!


  2. You have to have a certified one to get a passport.. and it can take up to 12 weeks to finally get your passport.. so you need to hurry if your needing it soon..

    NOTE: A certified birth certificate has a registrar's raised, embossed, impressed or multicolored seal, registrar’s signature, and the date the certificate was filed with the registrar's office, which must be within 1 year of your birth.  Please note that some short (abstract) versions of birth certificates may not be acceptable for passport purposes.

  4. You need a certified birth certificate.  Call the County Clerk in the county listed on your birth certificate to find out how to go about getting a certified copy.
