Can i use my rescue cd on another computer?

my computer is definatly broken, can i use my rescue cd from my old computer which is no longer used to install windows me on the broken one

No you can't as it doesn't contain the same driver, I would suggest you to just reinstall iwindows and download the drivers you need, download belarc advisor if you don't know what compnent your computer have, it will detect it for you then you just need to go look for it on google, I would also suggest you try mepis www.mepis.com or ubuntu linux as altrnative and don't worry about the driver it will detect it automatically.

  2. It depends on the brand of the computer. I know Toshiba and Sony both use recovery disks that are model dependent. However gateway will work in all. the only thing you really need to be careful of is that a fair amount of your drivers will not work until you redownload them from the manufacturer. My advice would be to just buy a new recovery disk from whoever made your computer, they are not that expensive to buy and it will eliminate all of the worries

  3. Those disks are "tailor-made" for specific computers with specific hardware.

    It's possible only if you can get an exactly same computer.
