  1. Actually, a photographer owns the rights to every single photo he/she takes. So before you use a photo, ask the photographer for permission to use it on your website! A simple e-mail will do -- "Dear (username): I found one of your photos (name the photo or provide a link) on Flickr, and I would love to use it on my website. (Describe how you will be using the photo) Is this ok with you? Sincerely (your name)." Then, after getting permission, credit the author (just say By: (photographer's name)) and provide a link to their Flickr photos page.

One last note - you absolutely **cannot** be selling or implying that you're selling any photos except those you take yourself. If you wish to sell someone else's photos, you must have a signed, dated, written contract of some sort with him/her and you must share in the profits in whatever way the two of you agree on.

And I'm not trying to bash The Crazy Lady or anything, but just ripping someone's photo off a website without their knowledge and permission to use on your own website is *stealing*.

  2. Depends on if the photo is copyrighted or not.

  3. There's no law about taking other peoples photo's to use as your own, i've done it for years.
