  1. NO.

It can cause respiratory problems for your hamster

  2. Cedar and Pine shavings contain oils which can damage a rat's (or any small animal's) liver. You shouldn't use these beddings. but if you only want to use the pine you can use it ONLY once or twice but deffinitly not cedar as i already said Cedar and Pine shavings contain oils which can damage a rat's (or any small animal's) liver. So be sure you only use pine once or twice but not over that and do not use cedar at all

    -syddles

  3. I wouldn't take the chance.  It's very toxic to them, can irritate their feet, and if they happen to swallow some of the bedding it is impossible for them to digest.  The chemicals in the bedding are not safe and it is more harmful to them when combined with urine.

It's not worth the risk.  If you are low on bedding throwing in some plain paper towels or toilet paper would be better than the alternative.

  4. Pine bedding would probably be okay but cedar is VERY poisonous to hamsters so don't use that at all!

  5. Kiln-dried pine is ok. The process can remove the harmful hydrocarbons from pine, but it can't treat cedar.

  6. no! dont take the risk! pine and cedar shavings are horrible! they are very bad to their respritory system and can cause other health problems to them.

some other bedding solutions would be:

    - aspen wood chips

    - care fresh

    - or sometimes even shreded up paper. but the only downside with this bedding is that its not very absorbent compared to other beddings!

    hope this helps!
