I have a mac os x 10.5.4 with leopard and pro tools m-powered 7.1.1

It says online that m-powered works with mac os x 10.4 but will it work with mac os x 10.5.4 with leopard. There is an update to the m-powered to get it to 7.4 but that costs 75 dollars. Would i have to buy that or can i just use it on my mac?

  1. You would have to download a patch in order to work previous versions of Pro Tools with newer versions of OS X.  I know that there is a 7.1.3 patch but I'm not sure if it's compatible with Leopard.  The best thing to do is to upgrade to 7.4 HOWEVER keep in mind that if you plan to continue upgrading your OS X, you have to continue upgrading Digidesign software as well.  I haven't upgraded from OS X 10.4.9 yet because I would have to upgrade my Pro Tools version.  I think it's unnecessary because there isn't a HUGE difference between versions.
