Can i use pvc pipe for the sides of my snowboard box? will that make it more forgiving if i catch an edge?

its not good to really have anything on the sides, its better for it to just be one solid flat piece up and down, because if the sides stick up higher than the base of the box its really g*y to do anything on it other than a boardslide, go to like menards and look for clear plastic sheets of plastic that what we used works good, pvc would probably catch an edge waayy easier anyways being that metal can dig into it easily and it wouldnt be any softerr
