  1. Hey Drew. You definitely do not want to use sandpaper on the base of your snowboard. P-tex is perfect for fixing basic scratches and it is not too difficult to apply. If you go into your local shop you might be able to get a few sticks from somebody working in the shop. The application just takes practice. I can explain exactly how to p-tex your base but i think watching a video will be more helpful and entertaining. Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggXATfM81...

  2. no way that will give your board even more scratches

  3. I assume you are asking if you can sand down the lips / buldges / gouges in the base causes by large scratches before you wax it.

No, you don't use sandpaper which will damage the base nearby - you use a scraper to scrape off any lips or buldges before waxing. I have also heard that before using P-Tex that you can use a sharp knife to trim the base arount the repair - but I've never done that.

I've only done base repair on a board once and it was a lot of work and I wasn't that happy with the result - now I take my boards to the shop.

    Good Luck
