  1. It's preferable that you have a birth certificate (and failing that a passport with the place of birth). If you don't have a birth certificate bring everything that links to the place of birth (that will list it) and you may be able to get through if you sign a declaration swearing that you are born in "name of place" no other proof otherwise.


  2. No. Definitely not. If you don't currently have a birth certificate, then  you need to look into getting a new one.

  3. I don't think so.  If no birth certificate is available, then the applicant needs to submit affidavit in lieu of birth certificate, the US Embassy should be able to help you with it, or check out their website, they have a list of acceptable documents when birth certificate isn't available.
