Can i use the leaves of soapwart aswell as the root?

does anyone have any recipes (cosmetic or cooking) for use of soapwart leaves instead of the root? i want to use the tonnes of soapwart leaves i have!

and also when they say soapwart root is that the actual root i can dig up in my garden and dry?

if you put the cut leaves in water they produce a lather. thats one i know about.
