  1. I don't know what jug fishing is but if you do mean jig fishing it should be fine. The stronger the line the better especially if your going after them monsters. Good luck and good fishing!

  2. i would not... more or less, you need to use a material, such as cotton cord, tied to the jug so if you cannot get to the jug to retrieve it, it will rot away, thus it is not a problem in the future.

at the bottom of the cotton line, mate the fisking line using a presick knot, then to your hook.

  3. Using metal cable is not the best idea. If you are using a jugline for catfishing and happen to get a couple large fish on say for example a 20# and a 35# and they start to fight as you begin retrieving your jugline, you could recieve some serious cuts pulling in your metal cable line. A much better idea would be to use 20# nylon twine.

  4. Troy, do you mean jug or jig fishing. I've never known a jug to put up that much of a fight, but, if you mean jig fishing then yes, it's ok. A lot of the fish I catch with jigs are toothy critters that would otherwise swim off with a perfectly good jig. Tight lines!!!

  5. A good friend of mine who happens to be a cat fishing expert will be able to help you best here. Let me put it to you like this, this guy is so good that he has sold many of his products all across the U.S. and specializes in the art of Jug fishing. You have a question, he's the authority. Check him out and get hooked up! ~good luck catchin'.
