Can i use this while breastfeeding?

Has any one used mylanta while breastfeeding. Did you consult with your doctor or not. Thanks

  1. You should be able to use it while nursing.  But give your doc's office a call to be sure.  The nurse on staff should be able to tell you for sure.


  2. It is not known if Mylanta is found in breast milk. But you HAVE to talk to your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.

  3. You can take mylanta while pregnant to help with heartburn and it is fine to take while breastfeeding; it has no ill affect on the the baby.


  4. I looked it up in a few online databases (copied & pasted below), they state that there are no known side effects in humans.  I would double check with a lactation consultant if you are concerened.  IBCLC's are the most knowledgeable about these types of questions, where as pediatricians, OBGYNs, and general doctors are always going to go on the conservative side and may tell you not to take something when it is totally safe.  IBCLC's are specially trained in this area.  You should be able to either call your local hospital to find one or you can find a local on by checking out La Leche League's website (http://www.llli.org/webindex.html).  Good luck :)
