  1. No.

    Only fully licensed drivers can cross the border from both sides. Your insurance would be invalid as well.


  2. The AA in the UK says no:

    Documents you should take with you (when driving in Europe):

    A valid full driving licence (not provisional), with paper counterpart if you have a photocard licence
