Can i use visine eye drops?

can i use them if i have contact lenses on ?

or do i need to take my contact lenses off before putting

them on?

  1. Visine is a vaso constrictor. I would not use it at all unless you are going to have you contacts out at least 8 hours.

Visine is not one of my favorite products as others have alluded above.  They do make a Visine for contacts, but again, not my favorite.  Try Refresh for contacts or Eye-cept.  I have found both to be nice lubricants.  If you are asking because your eyes are red, you probably need to see your doctor if the lubricants don't help.....and yes, you can put them right in on top of the contacts so long as there is an indication for use with contacts on the drop's packaging.

  3. Visine is the devil.

    First, as someone said, it's a vasoconstrictor. Great to use once a year for family photos, not for a regular basis.

    Second, it's preserved with BAK, which is bad bad stuff that actually disturbs your tear film and makes you need drops more and more.

    Use a BAK-free contact lens rewetting drop instead.  If your have dry eye needs severe enough to warrant it, ask your doctor for a prescription of freshkote, which is safe to use with contacts.
