Can i used two satelite speakers of 170 watts to a a/v receiver that outputs 100 watts ?

100 watts per channer for the satelite speakers, i know the speakers can take more than 100 watts, but not sure if there would be any problems if i do that.

It is OK to do what you are describing, it gets dangerous if you go the other way.

The rating on the speaker is a MAX wattage, so if you never exceed it (and by your amp you won't) you should be fine.
