I'm trying out for HS volleyball as a freshman, and my hair is super short. It's long enough that I can put it in a little pony tail, but short enough to wear I have to put bobby pins in my hair to keep it from falling out of the pony tail. Can I/Should I wear a hat to try outs? If so, does it matter what kind?

  1. The ball is coming from the top so if you cover part of your sight with a hat would be silly. You won't want anything to affect your ability to perform so maybe use a headband or pins?

  2. A head band would work the same if not better. Because you an lose sight of the ball while hitting or setting if you have a hat on, the bill backwards or not.

A head band will keep your hair back but still allow you to see everything.

  3. You are not allowed to wear a hat while playing HS volleyball.  The coach may allow it during tryouts and practices, but the referees will not allow it during matches or warmups.

You should not wear it for the reasons above, plus the safety issue. If the hat comes off during play, it is an extreme safety hazard for a player landing on your hat.

  4. it would be better if you didn't b/c bad things can happen i am telling u this from a l**k of experience

  5. That would be a good i dea because it would be blocking your sight/view. You may want to wear a head band.
