Can i wear contacts?

i'm going into 7th grade and i wear glasses. i had glasses since 2nd grade an now, it doesnt look good on me, so i want 2 wear contacts. i have lazy eye and im not sure if i can wear contacts. i can still see ok when i take them off, but my eyes look tiny. and also when u wear contacts, can it make ur eyes normal?

anyone  can wear contacts as long as they're responsible enough. there is no age limit. a lazy eye shouldn't prevent you from wearing them. my eye doctor has one too and he wears contacts and has been for over 20 years.

No. Contacts can't make your eyes normal if you mean back to good eyesight and no lazy eye! Sorry. Not good enough technology for that yet.

It really depends if you should / can wear contacts or not. Do you have prism in your glasses? That's a special thing they put in your glasses so when you wear your glasses and without them you usually have a lazy eye of some sort, the prism in your specs corrects it because of the light that makes your eye turn so it's normal for as long as you wear your glasses. If you want to know if you have prism in your glasses, look at an old glasses rx. It will say base up or base down (base left, base right? does that exist, idk!) that means you have prism in your glasses. There is no way to put prism in contacts, so that would be one reason why you can't wear them! But it's really up to your eye doc. I think it might be possible for him / her to put part of your rx in glasses (so that way your lazy eye doesn't show) and part of it in contacts.

You really need to go to an opthamologist and they can tell you yes or no and they will give you the prescription for the optometrist.
