Can i wire a mono amp to HU and Sub?

my friend said that i need a 2channel amp to wire the 1ch to the HU and 1 to the sub. please help me. so use my money wisely

  1. Presuming you mean Head Unit then yes you only need one channel to connect to one sub.

    Your HU will connect to the INPUT side of the amp & the sub will connect to the OUTPUT

  2. mono means the amp only has a single output. it will have one set of rca's for an input. run the hu to the amp using the rca's and then from the amp the sub(s) with the single output.

    when you say wire one channel to the hu....no...the hu runs to the amp via rca's...the amp does not power the hu.

  3. Your friend is a bit off.

    Ask him, "If you bridge a 2-channel amp to mono mode, why not just get a mono amp?"

    A mono amp will be fine. Just be sure it matches the ohm laod for the righrt RMS wattage of the sub.

  4. if your only going to use it for  a sub a mono would be okay
