  1. UK only mate !

Q, If going to England to play Football from Australia what sort of visa will sufice, playing on a contracted basis for pay ?

  2. no, you need a work visa no matter where you are from ,and each country has it's own law on visas ,especially work visas

  3. un tried area of Law,  It does allow you to work in the UK, However the EU has Not gotten to that level yet from What I can tell.

  4. Nope. UK ancestry means UK only. Try going for a schengen visa ( http://www.eurovisa.info/ ) if you really want to work in general Europe although it does tend to depend on which country you want.

  5. You can work in the UK but not in the rest of the EU. If the ancestry comes from a parent or grandparent you can apply for citizenship. This will allow you to work anywhere within the EU. Check first with your current country as to what doing this will mean.

  6. In principal no - a UK ancestry visa should only allow you to work in the UK. When you have lived in the UK for a number of years you can become a UK citizen.

However it is becoming easier for a permanent resident of one EU country to move and take up residence in another EU country. Its an area that is unclear and might depend on the country you wish to move and also the type of work you do. For instance in Holland, qualified IT professionals generally have no problem getting a knowledge worker visa if an employer is willing to sponsor them.

There other possibility is the attainment of nationality from an EU member state such as Ireland, Italy or Spain which make it easy for persons who are descended from citizens to claim citizenship. Unlike the Dutch who are paranoid about Dual Citizenship.
