Can individuals license technology, or must that person be incorporated to do that?

  1. Anyone can license technology as long as the licensor (owner) is willing to license it to the individual. A smart licensor generally looks at the ability of the licensee to develop and commercialize the technology for an individual would probably not appear to be a good licensee unless they had a lot of resources and/or expertise in the area to apply. Universities often license technologies to the inventor if no outside companies are interested and the inventor wants to develop the technology. In that situation, the licensee is typically expert in the technology and often has some resources to develop it.
