  1. Sorry, but you must have clicked the wrong section, as this is the motorcycle RACING questions.

The best advice I can give you is you to post this question again.

You would get a better response in....

    "Cars & Transportation"> "Motorcycles"

  2. I started on a r-6, rode it for two years and upgraded to a 1k. Depends on your maturity. Remember there are no roll cages/airbags offered. I have worked many a crash scenes and see so many young drivers who just got their bikes, still with temp tags, turned into a red stain on the asphalt. I started at 28 and cannot tell you the amount of times people have tried to race me in sport cars, etc. You have to be bigger than them and turn away, there is no margin for error for a 400lb missile going 150mph pushing 130hp.

  3. i started out on a 600gsxr and the only experience i have is on dirt bikes.  although the feeling is way different, the only thing i could suggest is ride within your limits, thats the biggest thing ive noticed.  to be safe you cant under estimate anything.  i almost lost control of my lane because i thought a turn was straightening out but rather it was getting sharper.  just practice. and be careful.

  4. I think that the rules differ from state to state so contact the road authority and licensing in the state you are in.  I did hear that if you are really tall you can get a dispensation to ride a larger bike in some states, but generally you have to have a 250cc for a starter.  Well that is here in Australia anyway!

  5. I started on a Ninja 600. I don't know that it was the best choice but it worked fine for me. I did have 6 years of motocross racing under my belt though at the time.

  6. alot depends on  your height and weight, the less you weigh the harder it is to control the bike
