Can inositol cause insomnia?

I know inositol is supposed to be good for treating anxiety and insomnia but can a large dose (8 - 10 grams) actually cause insomnia. I have started having insomnia after having been on large doses of inositol for about 2 - 3 weeks.

Inositol is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. It is also not recommended for those suffering from liver or kidney disorders without the approval of a physician.
