My daughter and I have insurance right now that my dad is paying $450 a month for us to have and soon I will be taking over that bill. I would get insurance through work but they require me to work 35 hrs per week which I cannot because I don't have anyone to watch her that much and I can't afford day care. I've looked into getting her insured on her own but all the places I've looked require her to not be insured in order to be eligible. Medicaid is supposed to be connecting me with some agents and quotes...but really I can't afford to pay for insurance at all right now. My daughters father is convinced that NOT having insurance is a GOOD thing because our pediatrition will only charge $1 more per visit if we don't have insurance. But what about hospital visits?? HELP!

  1. I have a plan that might work for you and your daughter

starting at $250 for a family - not our top of the line but it will pay for hospital, doctor visits, prescriptions and more

    email me if interested

  2. You need insurance and the price is reasonable (unfortunately)  In some states it is possible to buy health insurance that is stripped of certain mandates (like drug and alcohol rehab , and mental health coverage) if you meet certain low income guidelines.  I'd suggest calling you state insurance commissioners office and see if your state is one of those states and what companies offer it.  ( In PA the Blues offer this coverage)

  3. Not having insurance is not a good thing...watch out for yourself

  4. visit www.everyonebenefits.com/40571017

i think thier plans could really help you guys out.

  5. Visit a local independent agent to see what the best plan is in your area for your situatin and budget. The agent doesn't charge you any extra for the service.

You may not need a policy that has doctor visits for a co-pay. As you stated the pediatrition will only charge $1 more. You can get plans without doctor visits for much less. These plans will cover you for catastrophic illnesses or accidents. Paying for a doctor visit is do-able but very few people can come up with $100,000 for a major hospital bill.

Be very wary of medical discount cards. They are not regulated by the Department of Insurance nor do the people that sell them need to be licensed. This means you have little recourse when you have problems with the plan. If you are tempted by the low price and claims of “save up to 80%” be aware that very few doctors actually take these cards. It does you little good if you have to drive 4 hours to find a doctor that will accept the card. Montana couldn’t find any doctors in the whole state that actually took the card and only one dentist who was on probation for unlawful activities so they banned the sale of the card and fined the company. See this link http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/wes... for more information. Many other states are starting to ban these cards as well.

Before signing up with any discount plan get a list of doctors. If they won’t give you a list consider it to be a scam. Call the doctors on the list to make sure they’re still taking the card (many don’t even know that they’re listed as a provider) and that they’re accepting new patients.
