Can it be any clearer that feminism is dead?

Just look at the discussions here. Women squealing in delight over shoes and make-up, and whether to wear panties or not to attract a man. Betty Friedan and Andrea Dworkin would be appalled.

  1. Being a feminist doesn't mean we give up being feminine.

  2. Did somebody throw battery acid in your eyes?

  3. If feminism is dead, why are there so many men, women and children still suffering because of it?

  4. Yes.  Feminisn't.

  5. I only wish modern Feminism were dead, but regrettably there's too many people holding on to this arcane and hateful philosophy.

  6. every time a hot girl decides to dance around a pole and makes more money in an hour that a feminist makes in a month another pile of dirt is thrown on the grave of feminism.

  7. you have totally convinced me. I will turn in my flannel shirt and combat boots for a frilly dress and stilettos that destroy my knees and back. ENLIGHTENMENT! /sarcasm

I think the proliferation of laws and awareness about the state of gender the world over is much more convincing to the argument that feminism is alive and well, but thanks for inquiring :D

  8. Yes, because an online chat forum during summer vacation from school DOESN'T attract lots of immature teenage girls discussing fashion and is EXTREMELY representative of the female populace.

Nice try, borne of wishful thinking.

Besides, who says feminists can't enjoy shoes and make-up?

  9. Feminism is far from dead, but at least there is starting to be some sort of awakening to what is going on. For example, how could feminism be dead when it is successfully spreading anti-male domestic 'violence' laws all over the world (see UNIFEM in Section 4 here http://www.freewebs.com/feminism-evaluat...

However the fact that people are starting to voice their serious doubts about the 'equality' the feminism stands for is very healthy and democratic, although of course feminists don't encourage criticism at all e.g. persecuting people who try to point out that men suffer from domestic violence too.

  10. I do not consider YA a microcosm of the human race.  Equal rights for all people is a standard in the United States and respect and rights for all is Humanism not Feminism.

Women, stop letting these few men define who you are.  There is not a checklist that says if you are these things you have to be a feminist and if you are a feminist you have to be these things.

We are individuals, each with our own strengths and abilities, all of us, not matter what people choose to call us, are human beings, with the ability to decide for ourselves what we want...and the freedom to do the same.
