Question:

Can it ok to use bindings size 8-11 with size 12 snowboarding boots?

So I bought size 8-11 bindings but found out that my boots are size 12. When I tighten the binding with the boots in them there is plenty of room left... as in you could tighten them a lot more if the boot allowed it. The only thing is on the side the boot just fits in without much room to spare. Now I'm new to snowboarding so I'm not sure if this is ok or not. It would kinda be a pain to return them so I'm hoping I don't have to but should I?

  1. The only thing that will make things difficult is when you start to ride in powder or heavier snow. The snow may slightly build up in the binding making it even harder to fit your massive feet into them. Bring some type of tool with you to chip away at any snow build up in your bindings.

If you can return them for a larger size that would obviously be best.

  2. It sounds like your bindings are a perfect fit for your boots.  You don't want a lot of extra space around the boot.  I know some riders who purposely get a size smaller to ensure a tight fit.  The tight fit makes for more responsive riding.

  3. I had the same problem . What I found that ,when sitting down to put my feet into the bindings, if I kicked my heels down hard into the snow that little gap would disappear and I'd have a good fit.

  4. its hard to say u may get away with it it all depends whether you can squeeze ur boot in
