Can just anyone receive ivf/pgd gender selection?

My whole life I have always wanted a little girl. And I have been researching ivf/pgd and I have noticed that many websites say, that if you have a child of the opposite s*x, or you want to protect your children from inheriting a genetic disease, you can receive ivf/pgd. However does this mean if you just want a child of a specific s*x and none of the above reasons apply, you cannot receive ivf/pgd gender selection?

If it's only for prefence reasons then no they won't help you. Sorry

If its simply because you want a specific s*x, no IVF/pgd will not be an option as the Dr. will only preform this test if there is a genetic reason to do so.  But either way, if you have to go through IVF for a child, I'm sure you will love and appreciate it no matter the s*x. After all, that is what its all about..

My cousin had it and they will only do it if there is a medical reason why you can not have a girl/boy. Having a girl is great (4 months old today) but I would swap my 4 year old boy for the world. In fact when I was expecting baby number 2 I relished the idea of 2 boys. You will love it no matter what. Whatever s*x it is.

hi i done ivf as we needed to, my hubby asked about the same thing, they said that they wont check the gender of the embryos, so if thats the only reason you want to do ivf then they wont help you
