  1. your tank would have to be 1000 gallons, so if you don't want to stunt ur fish get that or a huge pond.

  2. I have seen many koi in aquariums at different asian food venues (chinese, japanese, etc) Generally, they do not get that large when they are in a smaller environment, however they do survive.

  3. yes they can. but you would want to use a good filtration and as big tank. Also weekly water changes is very helpful.

  4. Yeah if its like 1000 gallons.

  5. Yup. We've had 'em in our tank lots of times. They usually only grow as big as their environment lets them.

You don't need a huge tank if you buy the koi as a baby. It shouldn't grow too big as long as it's in the tank.

But koi are goldfish, so they do filthy the water up quite fast. Like the others said, you'd need a good filtration or lots of water changes.

  6. NO! unless it's a huge aquarium!

  7. yes and how many are you planing to get as they get very big they will need a pond unless your tank is very big

  8. yes can be done there are lots of people keeping kois in an aquarium for years.  Just make sure you got good filter the tank big enough for them to swim around.  If your koi fish outgrows the tank you should transfer it to a pond or much bigger tank howeve indoors koi got slow growth.  And do frequent water changes the are eaters and produce lots of waste.
