Can landlords rent an uninspected home?

I've been renting from really crooked landlords and want to know if a property is required to be inspected, our isn't an we've been living here two years.

  1. wouldn't it have been inspected upon them purchasing it...whenever that was?...as for inspections beyond that...nope, don't think they are required...howeve, if you feel this home is unsafe for habitation you can probably report the landlord and the place will be inspected.

  3. yes you are supposed to, most dont let you even apply withou inspecting the property, however some make exceptions and you agree to rent the property "as is" no matter what the condition. theres nothing you can do though seeming youve been there for 2 years already.

    or do you mean check up on the house while your living there? no, they dont have to. your supposed to bring up any maintenance concerns with them. otherwise they can leave it until your moving out to take your money for whatever damages are done

    I live in NC and I'm not required to have anything inspected by anyone prior to renting it.
