  1. After a SCOTUS decision some years ago, yes.  However, being law enforcement increases the odds that the prospective juror would personally know the arresting or investigating officers, which would be an instant dismissal for cause.  Your jurors are supposed to be impartial, which is why the attorneys ask (usually) if you know any of the parties in the case.  If you know someone, you have an automatic bias to believe (or maybe disbelieve) that person's testimony vs. other witnesses.
