Can lenses from a SLR film camera be used with a digital SLR camera?

I have a Canon Rebel 2000 EOS with Sigma 28-80mm lens and a Sigma 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 DL Macro Super lens. Is it possible to use these lenses with a digital camera?

If they use the EF lens mount the answer is yes.

EDIT: But that yes only applies to Canon DSLRs.

Possibly - it depends on your exact combination of lenses and body.

Please note some features may not work (such as autofocus, automatic exposition) but they are very cheap so you may wish to try anyway.

My husband got me a Canon Rebel XTI digital camera for my birthday. I had a Canon Rebel EOS and I was able to use the same lens on the digital. In fact I like the old one better. Hope this helps.
