  1. mmmmm noooooo they eat crickets, mealworms, waxworms, beetls, and baby mice for adults only

  2. Leopard geckos are primarily insectivorous, feeding on insects, spiders, crickets, grubs, and worms and even pinky mice(baby mice)if the gecko is large enough.I have never tried to feed them mashed up fruit.

Leopard geckos will eat a variety of live food insects. Their main staple diet should be black or brown crickets or mealworms. Waxworms can be fed but only occasionally as they are high in fat and so should not make up the main part of your animals diet. They can however be very useful in adding weight to females for breeding or to get sick animals back on track. The occasional pinkie can be fed to adult leopard geckos but again should not be more than once every few months. All live food should be first gutloaded and then dusted with calcium or a multi vitamin before being fed to your leo. Calcium should be used for 5 days a week and a multi vit on the other 2 days for geckos that are being fed every day. If adults are fed less calcium 2 days a week and multi vit once a week would also work fine.

The Leopard gecko has a life span in captivity of 10 to 25 years with the longest confirmed life span at 35 years, a male at the St. Louis Zoo

  3. i belive that you can feed them ocassional soft fruit, it has to be soft so it can be easily digested.

although i wouldnt recomened it as when i tried doing this he didnt touch the fruit and over night it attracted a large group of flour mites, although harmless, are very anoying to get rid of.  give it a go it you want but make sure that you keep a close eye on the tank for attracted insects.

  4. yes, they can eat fruit but weather it eats it is another thing all together. They can eat apple cut into very small peices, peices of grape, prunes, dates, cranberry... the gecko may not take any notice of the fruit, it depends on the individual, some accept it as food, most don't.

Fruit should only be offered as a treat if it turns out your gecko likes it.

  5. NO NO NO!!! Are you crazy??? They are insectivores and they do NOT eat fruit. Fruit can a very unhealthy reaction, known as impaction. Impaction is caused by a blocked passage way in the stomach. if this happens your gecko can die a very slow death. If you fed it fruit already you made a very big mistake. Fruit is very hard to digest when it comes to geckos. The only thing Leo's can eat are Cricket, (brown or black) mealworms, wax-worms (though i do not recommend), and grasshoppers.

  6. Yes they can eat fruit. Apples, bannanas, etc. They will also eat green beans..
