Can liquids absorb into leather seats and possibly stain?

Im getting a new car soon with parchment leather seats, and was wondering if liquids absorb into it, and if some can stain it?

  1. Oh yes, especially parchment as the surface has been broken to soften it. Best to get leather preserver and treat the seats before the action starts.

Most car leathers are fully pigmented leathers which means that they have a robust finish on them (there are a few exceptions to this) and this means that most spillages will not be absorbed by the leather itself.  Pale leathers however will suffer from dye transfer from clothing and the finish will also need protecting from dirt and body oils.  This can easily be done with a good leather protector (Auto Ultra Protect is the most effective one there is ) and this will help to inhibit the build up of dye transfer and make the leather much easier to keep clean.  The key to making leather last is to keep it clean so protect and clean on a regular basis little and often and this will prolong the life of your leather.
