  1. Longerans can be, and are,  planted in the US. Mostly in California. I buy Cali grown longerans in Boston all the time :-)

    Don't try to slip Viet longerans thru customs...It cost me $100 once.


  2. I doubt you can bring the seeds to the US from VN but you can find longan trees sold at Vietnamese markets in the US,  areas with warm weather such as Southern CA or Florida, etc.  These trees won't do well in colder climate such as Northern CA.

  3. There are laws against planting foreign seeds in most modern countries.  The concern is that some bacteria or fungus may be brought in with the seeds.

    There are also concerns about alien species disrupting the native ecology.

  4. Yes Logans can be planted in the US, but only in very hot areas like South California or Florida. Most Longans sold in the US are from there. Try to get the tree from a asian nursey.

    I would look it up on google on line.
