  1. My mother was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer one year ago.  She was given one year to live.  They couldn't do radiation or surgery due to extensive lung damage, but they did do six rounds of chemotherapy at a very low dose.  After those rounds of therapy they described her cancer as dormant because it wasn't growing.  She has now been without any type of treatment for six months and the tumor is still dormant according to the most recent scan.  So there is always hope.  We will continue to watch her closely and enjoy whatever time we have left with her.  I'm not a praying man, but I've heard that helps at least to lift the patients spririts.  Best of luck to you.
