Can mailed\shipped event tickets be insured for more than face value?

If insured for amount purchased on ebay with that value be honored by UPS, USPS, Fedex, DHL , etc?

  1. you can...but if they are lost and you put in a claim, they are only worth face value.


  2. I worked for FedEx and here is how they work. Yes, in a sense you can declare a value for more than the price of the tickets. The more you declare, the more you pay obviously. However, if by chance your tickets are lost, destroyed, etc and you file a claim, FedEx will ask you to prove the value of the tickets. So basically you'd have to show your eBay receipt and they would only reimburse you for the actually amount rather than the declared value amount thats more than face value. So your better off declaring the actual amount and saving some money. And talking with other couriers, they have pretty much the same type of policy.

  3. every shipping company has it's own policy and minimum amount wherein a specific parcel can be insured. an example, for EMS: if the parcel is worth more than $200, then you can apply it to be insured and request damage payment eg your item cost $500, the same amount $500 also. but if the parcel is less than the minimum of $200, then you cannot apply it for insurance.
