  1. He could win easily if he was naturaly 147, but he has to go up two weight classes in less then six months. Also Oscar has been fighting really good in his passed fights. So the ansewer is, I don't think so, Oscar should take the decision, and retire as one of the best.

  2. NO and let me give you and example of what this fight would look like remember Oscar and the Italian kid from New York remember how Oscar through him around the ring like a rag doll I can,t believe I can,t remember his name the kid has the biggest heart in boxing Mayweather kile to have killed him and way Oscar would have a field day with Pacquiao no contest and I hate Oscar but I,m no fool

  3. no he's to small dela hoya will kill him

  4. Yes he could now, when Dela Hoya was in his prime he would win, but he wouldn't stand a chance now.

  5. time will tell

    .

  6. Oscar would dwarf Manny Pacquiao. You probably could not even appreciate the size difference until you see them sanding together in the center of the ring.

Pacquaio is pound for pound the best in the world right now, but he will not have the power to hurt DeLaHoya, he will be swinging up at Oscar as well which will take away from his power over a wider arc of his punch.

Roach said Pacquiao could knock Oscar out, but Roach also guaranteed Oscar would beat Floyd.

Manny could win if he flurried and got away. It would not be the action packed fight we would hope for, It would be Oscar chasing, Pacquiao running and jumping in with the occasional flurry.

Even at this stage in his career DeLaHoya still has a quick and powerful left hook which I have to think would eventually catch Pacquiao cumming in and end his night.

This fight is about money and nothing else, Its a no win for Oscar other then the money. If he wins he beat a guy who was way smaller then him, If he loses then he got beat by a flyweight.

Its a win, win for Manny, If he loses then he takes a huge payday, goes back to his division still champion and even if he hangs in there a bit  people will give him credit for being gutsy, If he wins then its all about Manny and he has defeated The Golden Boy.

Then again there is the possibility that in order to get the fight with Oscar, Pacquaio and Arum have to sign with Oscar so that Oscar gets a cut or is able to co promote Manny's next bunch of fights. In which case Oscar throws the fight and allows Manny to flurry out a decision win (much like he did against Mayweather, only Floyd screwed Oscar by retiring)

If Oscar really wants to win: Oscar by 7th round Ko

If Oscar is getting a cut of Manny's future fights: Manny by SD

In a real fight if Manny can carry his speed and power with him in the higher weight then he could hit hard enough to make Oscar respect him and be able to keep Oscar off and win a decision.

If he cant keep his speed at the higher weight then it spells disaster and is only a matter of time before Oscar catches him.

  7. the answer simply is YES cause there is always a possibility in boxing.. if you ask how then I will say he will have to stick and move.. use his speed and foot work.. Stay away from oscar's left hook and avoid toe to toe action, and create lots of angles on his southpaw stand to make Oscar reset permanently on his attacks, plus Freddy Roach knows a bit of Oscar's boxing style after.

now it gets tough if you ask "what are the chances of Pacman winning the fight:

  8. I don't think Pac could pull this one off.  He's looking for a big pay day before he retires.  After this fight, he may NEED to retire.  DeLa Hoya is only a shadow of what he once was, but you just can't ignore the size difference.  I'm not much of a DeLa Hoya fan, but you can never count him out.  He studies his opponents and is a very smart fighter.  Also keep in mind he has a great chin.  He was able to take Trinidad's and Hopkins (at 160!) shots.  I'm sure he can take Pac hardest shots.  Pac was impressive against Diaz at 135, but it did take him 9 rounds to take him out.  He'll be fighting DLH at 147.  I'm sure DLH would be about 155-160 by fight time.

Here's a pic which may give you an idea of the difference in size..

  9. imo..no.

I can easily see (as hard as this is for me to say) DeLaTreadMill beating the smaller Pac-man in Brutal fashion to be honest.

The dude is too small. Oscar is taking bernards route of fighting smaller guys at catch weights.

This has waaaay more to do with $$$$ than anything else.

  10. Can he?  Yes.  Will he?  No.  I'm not a fan of Pacquiao coming up in weight.  The one that does that usually ends up the loser.  De la Hoya needs to wrap up his career against Margarito.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao should stay in his weight class.  As of right now, he has the Phillipine presidency all wrapped up.

  11. pacquiao is the best in the world now, but he is too small to tackle de la hoya, in much the same way oscar was too small for b-hop.

pacquiao started his careet at jr flyweight, so to move up to 147 pounds is asking too much, as de la hoya will weigh maybe 155 pounds on the night of the fight.

  12. no

  13. no, Oscar is too big. Oscars fight with Mayweather could have gone either way. Could Mayweather beat Pacquiao? Yes.

  14. I'll make this quick and easy for you:

De La Hoya has only lost to people who are BIGGER than him (Hopkins, Trinidad) or have faster & longer arms than him (Mosley, Mayweather).

Pacquiao is neither of those. It also doesn't help that De La Hoya started his career at 130lbs and fought as  high as 160lbs (losing only by bodyshot knockout), while Pacquiao started as low as 107 and reached the 136lb weight class after a 13 year career.

Are Pacquiao's boxing skills enough to overcome 4 inches of height, 6 inches of arm length, 25 lbs of natural weight, and De La Hoya's rock solid chin?

Even Cotto had better chances against Margarito and you saw where that went. De La Hoya may have slowed reflexes, but Pacquiao won't be able to hurt him nonetheless.

  15. NO ONLY A WHOOPER THINKS THIS...IF MANNY TAKE THIS FIGHT I HOPE HE GETS A GOOD BEATING FOR THINKING HE IS HIS SOMETHING HE IS NOT. HE HAS NOT BEAT A REAL LIGHTWEIGHT YET MAN NOT EVEN A LIGHT WELTERWEIGHT. SO HE WILL GET BADLY HURT. THESE BOXING THINK OSCAR A MUG. WELL THEY ARE THE MUGS..

  16. You are definately from the Philippines for asking this question. Ummm, no a guy that started at 105 cannot beat a man that has had his best results at 147. Pac is too small.

  17. hey u have to know this, oscar has an advantage: weight, speed, height, but remember this , even tho manny can throw a lot of punches to tire dela hoya, dela hoyas punches are stronger. but manny can tire delahoya because he has great footwork and a bunch of stamina. dela hoya can keep up until maybe 6th or 7th round but i see him throwing less punches each round and manny capitalizing on that advantage.also rmember manny has one of the greatest trainers and freddie can find a way to beat oscar because he has trained him be4. so manny has all the tools to beat oscar but needs to fight a perfect and smart fight, i see manny knocking down dela hoya early 12th round or unanimous decision by pacman, hope this helped
