Can masturbating effect your muscle gains when you workout???

Ive heard that masturbating can help build muscle because of testosterone, but then some say it can hurt gains in the gym...

  1. There was a study out a few years ago where they asked athletes before contests/events if they had had s*x or masturbated the night before.  No correlation was found between sexual activity and athletic performance the following day.  Hope that helps.


  2. s*x/masturbation has been proven to have no negative affect on a person before working out. It may actually even help you because it allows you to relax and focus

  3. i dont think itll hurt your gain any, if anything it probably gets you focused on other things once that is out of the way lol

  4. It obviously can't help build muscle.  This is actually quite a debated topic if it can hurt you in the gym or not if you do it before the workout.  From personal experience i think it effects my workouts.  I suggest doing it later after your workout is done and it will be fine.

  5. I don't think it does anything bad. I've been whacking off longer than I've been working out, and I don't think it's affected it.

    Avoid doing it at the gym though!!!

  6. Well I know one muscle that will certainly "gain" from it...lol ;)
