Can materiality exist within the mind and be reproduced in the physical world?

Question

I am refering to the production of malanggan in Melanesia which are made from memory through images which are seen during the sacrifice of them. Thus they are produced for the purpose of being sacrificed but the image is the source of the material object which is produced from the MIND. Thus, i am questioning how our idea about materiality differs from them. Yes materiality is everything physical but it doesnt exist independently of people and relations.
