  1. Yes of course.

  2. Yes, its highly contagious.

  3. Absolutely~ Mersa does not discriminate against who it infects~ Infants have low immunity anyway as their immune systems are not fully developed or functional. Mersa is a dangerous infection and can cause death in an adult, more less an infant or older person who might have compromised immunity.

  4. MRSA is contagious to everyone and as your other answer states babies low immune systems make them more at risk.

Skin mrsa is spread by being able to live on surfaces for weeks and someone touching that surfaces behind them.

Urinary mrsa is passed thru bodily fluids, clothing, linen. personel hygenie products, towels, etc

Respiratory mrsa is passed thru the nose.

Take special precaution around your child. If it is skin mrsa, wear gloves. wash your hands often with soap and water, clean all surfaces with bleach and water, and get a anti-microbial hand gel for going out. Keep the open wound site compeletly covered, changing the bandage whenever you see drainage, until the skin has grown compeletly over it. It's the puss from the wound that get spread from someone not washing their hands then touching something.

Urinary mrsa is an exchange of bodily fluids, linen, towels, clothing, personel hygiene products, etc. Keep them seprate from others during this time.

Respiratory is spread threw the nose so wear a mask is the best advise I can offer for that.

The most important thing to do is to see your doctor and seek his advice on this subject after all he knows better than all of us...Good luck...druski0918
