I was pumping about 6-8 times a day.. I was getting about 40 oz and I just didnt have anymore room for the oversupply... so.. I cut back on some pumps.. like 2 now I only pump 6 times a day. I also ran out of fenugreek and since I was doing so good I didnt rush out for more.. now ive crashed to like 24-27 oz a day? can I bring it back up? I cant pump all kinds of times but can pumping 8 again and taking the fenugreek bring it back? I exclusively pump of course.

  1. You can surely bring it back up. Stock up on the Fenugreek and eat oatmeal 3 times per day. Not instant oatmeal, but rolled oats and milk, microwaved or cooked on the stovetop. Continue pumping for 15 minutes past your last drops of milk that come out in order to stimulate further production. Your supply should start increasing within two days if you follow this recipe.

  2. Your milk supply was awesome. Believe me, I've never hit that. I use a product called Breastea. It contains fenugreek and blessed thistle. The tea is really mild. It has helped my milk supply a lot. Keep up the pumping and add on an herbal product, and you will be fine.

  3. Of course you can bring it back up, the more demand the more your body will produce -though it is more responsive for babies than pumps.

But given that the average breastfed baby takes 19-30oz per day why would you want to be making 40oz?

  4. Talk to your doctor about Domperidone. Also Blessed Thistle works well in combination with Fenugreek. I had nearly lost my supply and now I pump only three times a day and consistently get 32 oz a day!
