Question:

Can mint plants attract flies?

My dad planted a mint plant by our back door. It attracts so many flies that when you touch it like 15 flies come flying out. It's extremely annoying and my mom hates it.

If my dad takes it out of it's pot, and plants it in another one would it survive?

Thank you in advance!

  1. YES! I've had the same problem, flies everywhere!  However, I believe flies are attracted to the blooms on the top of the mint, not the leaves.  I don't know why this is.  Just cut the flowering portion of the mint off and that should take care of your problem.
