Can moderators delete messages in bulk?

I have 2800 messages in the archive. Can I do a mass delete?

It can only be done one page at a time.

No, but you can do it page by page by selecting each message individually and clicking Delete at top or bottom of message list, then go to next page, repeat, etc.

You can delete more per page (about 29 per page) if you "simplify" the message view. Click on "simplify" located on upper left above message list.  With 2800 messages, that would be a big job but you could split it up and delete several pages per day until completed.

you cant, you have to do it page by page which is 25 per page, = 112 pages loads to delete that many posts in the archives- sorry that's the only way. there is no mass- delete option.

simplify or expanded, same amount lists on each page- (although simplify will make checking those boxes easier) 25 to 30- doesn't matter it's still many page loads to delete that many

Why delete 2,800 messages in the first place?

Are they your messages, or are they messages that others worked to furnish the Group with? If others wrote them you may anger a lot of your members by removing them from the Group archives.
