  1. Yeah..but you have to have a good eye for recognizing antiques that will make money.

Experience is essential, however if you start of small, with small profits, the experience will move you forward.

The antiques business is a very big business and there is a lot of competition. I would suggest you to do a bit of research before actually making the decision.

  2. Yes ! but its like anything else you only buy what you can definitely sell quickly and at a profit.

Dint forget and you will have expenses like your time petrol money storage advertising ,auction fees.

Sounds easy ? don't be fooled its harder than you think !

However some people have a flair for it.

  3. Yes, most definitely you can make money by buying/selling antiques.

However a word of caution: Typically, when you talk of antiques, you associate some kind of history or story behind them. Antiques are also important if they have a definite year of origin, or if they come from a particular era.

There are lots of vendors of fake antiques out there, so be aware that you do not fall into their trap.

    Best of Luck!

  4. yep my mum buys antiques at car boot sales and in bazaars in India or charity shops-she has knowledge of value and authenticity of objects after reading plenty of up to date antique books.

she has a stall at the antique store in my local town-it's a tourist town on the seaside and lots of people buy her stuff, she makes sometimes more than quadruple what she spends out.

it just takes patience and learning.

  5. Yes definately, but you have to know what you're doing. I'm no expert on antiques but I do know that profit margins are not high and it can be difficult to source or sell antiques. Maybe you should try it as a side line before committing to it

  6. Yes - you buy junk and sell antiques

  7. Obvioulsy some people do, but i would have thought that sales would be hit hard with the current crunch
