Can money be made picking up metal and recycling it?

Do business and private owners pay people to pick up metal they no longer use? Such as shelving, metal desks, or automovtive parts. Any ideas would be helpful!

You can solicit businesses that are moving in or out to get their trash metal.

The problem is you neeed a bunch of it to make any money.

Scrap metal yards now pay a pretty penny for metal and they buy it by the ton

a ton of metal whatever it may be goes for $515 a ton. Much higher than a few years ago. You can make good money if you can get ahold of the right people at the right time.
