Can moose float when dead?

Yep, I agree with the other answers. Sink when firs shot and float when the gasses build up inside the body.

At first it would sink. Then, after a few days, its insides would start to putresce and it would fill with gas and float up to the surface again.

when the insides rot it turns to gas , it'll float alright, stand clear when it punctured
