In school I have been told that more than one teacher was certified to teach the honors class. You see, once you are gt certified, you cannot be kicked from the class. But some of my classmates have been split up, and they are telling me that both classes are gifted and talented. Maybe they feel insecure, but the day before they told me this, the teachers said that they didn't want to start a whole big deal about it. I know something may be up.

  1. Of course.

It depends on the needs of the school. So yes your school can do this.

  2. Yes, depends on the school. Besides, it is just a title.

  3. Of course.  If your school needs five teachers to handle G/T classes, they can hire five teachers who have G/T certification.  One teacher can't always handle every single class.

  4. an honors class is different from a gifted class; and a child can be removed from a gifted class, but since gifted students are also considered special ed. students and have IEP's, the IEP would have to be violated.
